Get to know a little bit about me
Behind Sage & Mint…
Hi! My name is Asha.
I’m your resident Biophilic Queen and self-proclaimed awkward turtle, here to share my beautifully chaotic life with you.
I hail from the small town of Port Huron, Michigan, but my heartstrings are pulled southward thanks to the time I spent early in my military career stationed in South Carolina. Right after high school, I joined the United States Air Force, where I developed discipline, resilience, and a passion for photojournalism. Once I separated from the military, I tackled life head-on, earning my degree through the GI Bill while juggling all the things: two kids, a full-time job as a property adjuster for a major insurance carrier, and building a relationship with the man who is now my husband.
But as the ambitious, goal-driven perfectionist I am, I didn’t stop there. I went on to earn my MBA, climbing the corporate ladder and hopping from job to job in search of fulfillment. Spoiler alert: I didn’t find it. It wasn’t until I got fired (for the first time—ouch!) that I realized I had spent years chasing someone else’s dreams. That moment was my wake-up call. It pushed me to start prioritizing my dreams—working for myself, creating a life I love, and building something meaningful alongside my beautiful family.
Being a wife and mom of three to my tribe—Zack, Sophia, Olivia, and Luca—is my greatest joy, even when the love and snuggles are interrupted by tantrums, sibling squabbles, and the occasional existential crisis (mine, not the kids’). This life isn’t easy, but I wouldn’t trade the laughter, milestones, tears, and triumphs for anything.
Now, I’m channeling my passion for plants, my background in photojournalism, and my desire to connect with others into this space. I’m stepping outside of my shell, sharing my journey, and hoping to inspire anyone out there balancing dreams, diapers, and deadlines.
Thank you for being part of this wild, wonderful ride with me. Let’s grow, laugh, and maybe learn something along the way!

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
